Longevity – Being There For The Long Haul At The Silver Spur

I’ve been thinking a lot about longevity lately. I’m not sure why my mind keeps going back to that specific word or phrase but I’m guessing it has a lot to do with the fact that I’ve been thinking about my Grandpa Strein even more than normal in the past few days. The crazy world we live in, makes me miss the calm and steadiness my Grandpa Strein always showed even more.

Craig Strein of Silver Spur Saddle ShopGrandpa Strein founded the Silver Spur Saddle Shop over 50 years ago. In today’s marketplace, that’s a lifetime. I have no idea if the word ‘longevity’ ever crept into his mind. But I know he built this company on a solid foundation of honesty, trust, industry and product knowledge, a commitment to customer service, and hard work.

Grandpa treated the people who walked inside his front door, hard-earned money in hand, with respect. He took great pride in providing them with the best advice possible when it came to products and services. If they were coming into his store to spend their money, he made sure they got the best products and customer service, anywhere.

Regardless of what was going on around him, he was always steady.

He was focused.

He was committed.

He was building longevity into this company, whether he knew that at the time or not.

With Grandpa Strein, as much as he loved this business and products, it was always about the customers for him.

The same is true today… our focus is on you.

My grandfather left some big shoes to fill after he passed away. It’s a calling I have never and will never take lightly. I often wonder what he would think about today’s fast-paced, online, superstores that seem to magically appear and then disappear overnight in many cases. The number of actual tack stores in the Midwest and in the USA continues to dwindle, dwarfed by massive online stores that are simply selling products, without ever really getting to know their customers.

But none of that has changed our focus or goals. Continuing in Grandpa Strein’s footsteps, we strive to continue providing THE best customer service and product knowledge and expertise anywhere. We take pride in our product knowledge and expertise and matching YOU with the products and services that will best match your needs. We continue to work hard to earn your respect, trust, and business. I hope we’re getting the job done.

At the end of the day, our doors have been open for over 50 years and they’ll be open for many, many more years to come. We are a FULL-SERVICE WESTERN store serving the USA and abroad and… we aren’t going anywhere. Grandpa Strein and I have worked hard over the years to achieve longevity… we’re in this for the long haul!

Until Next Time,
Craig
